Hello, well my name is Raquel and I am currently the Captain of the Memorial Academy of Learning and Technology Winterguard Team. I'm 13 years old and I am in 8th grade and sadly this is my last year. I really enjoy being captain. I would of never tought I would be on a Colorguard/Wintergaurd team, especially as a captain.

Last year we were so close to winning the 2007 Championships, but sadly we didn't. This year I am really excited. I'm really looking forward to this years show. This is my second year in Winterguard and I freakin love it!

I like to dance, go out with my friends and when I'm not practicing for guard you can find me at the mall shopping, doing homework or at my friends house. I love clothes, shoes, mascara, hairspray, and sunglasess.

Well enough about me! let's get back to why I love guard.

Well PJ and Sheila are my coaches and they are so cool. You can talk to them about anything, but the main person that motivates me is my mom. She has supported me with everything, I love you mom.

I like to give a shout out to my friends, if it weren't for my friends I would be here at Memorial Academy. This year hopefully we will win Championships and come home with the "GOLD." Last year we worked really hard but not hard enough. But this year we are going to work twice as hard and for sure win all competitions.

 Hi! my name is Maria. I enjoy art, playing video-games and drinking lots of PEPSI. I like listening to different types of rock music. I love to draw. I mostly like to draw Anime/Maya pieces. My favorite animal are black rabbits, white tigers, pandas and crows. I LOVE the color black for some reason, the color attracks my attention. I may be quiet at times but during that time I'm thinking of what to do or peraring for the future. I am very resposible and I always give 110% in what I do. I try so hard and do my best to represent Memorial Academy as a captain/guard member.

I've been waiting to be a guard members since I was in the 3rd grade. I saw a Winterguard team that worked as one, learned difficult routines, and performed with no mistakes. I was so impressed on how discipline they were, how well they worked together as a team and how committed they were to the sport. That's when I decided to set a goal for myself, to become a guard member/captain. And I did. Now I'm the captain of the 2008 Winterguard team which means I have accomplished my goal.

My new goal is to win the 2008 Championships with my team. I trully think this years team will make it all the wal to the top. This years team is very dedicated, skilled and hard working. They learn quickly and know how to work as a team. I know the coaches are pushing us but I  believe it will pay off at the end. I believe in this team, and I have to make sure all guard members give 110%.
